He loves to look at magazines

Taken April 23, 2006, when my father lived at the Fairfield nursing home, also in the Bronx. I loved it - thoughtful aides, high school volunteers, good exercise program, kitchen downstairs where we could go for ice cream anytime.

But it was owned by the Hebrew Home, who sold it to a private company. There was a lot of grumbling among the staff. We were told anyone who wanted to move up the road to the Hebrew Home, could.

The Hebrew Home is huge and doesn't have the personal touches the Fairfield did.
